Taught master's courses are designed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills in a chosen field. These programs are led by academic teams with extensive real-world experience in their respective areas. Students benefit from their expertise, ensuring that their education is both academically rigorous and practically relevant.

96% of eligible academic staff submitted research in the Research Excellence Framework, and more than 61% of research outputs are rated as world leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*). The university ranked in the top 3 in the North West of England and in the top third of universities in the UK for Research Intensity (Complete University Guide 2023).

Postgraduate students are recommended to immerse themselves in the research centres and projects on offer at the university, helping to steer the future of their field.

Liverpool Hope offers a selection of distance learning courses for those students who are unable to attend in person, or who wish to fit their studies around other commitments.

Around a third of Liverpool Hope’s distance learning students are postgraduates. All three faculties offer master’s courses in areas such as business, English and theology. Three research degrees are offered currently: PhD, MPhil and EdD. Research in English, music, theology and religious studies has been classed as world leading.
