Dr Sally Clift, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, summarises the structure of the various MSc programmes in Engineering and the skills acquired. The programmes consist of two sections: technical training and a research project. The skills developed through exploring a problem in which the solution is not already known draws on all of the student’s resources and has proved to be a very rewarding experience.
